Packing Tips

I'm all moved in!

So, in the little amount of time I have on one of the school computers (the internet at home isn't hooked up yet) I will give some packing tips to Belinda:

1. It helps to have a friend named Dave who can carry heavy boxes. If you don't have one of these, either don't pack all of your heavy things together, or find a guy who is more than willing to show off how strong he is. Or make your boyfriend do it. The point is: You don't want to be carrying heavy boxes, especially in the rain, or up or down a flight of stairs.

2. For maximum ease, pack solid things into boxes, and soft things (clothes, bedsheets, blankets, pillows, etc) into bags. That way, you can stack the boxes, and then squish the bags into places where boxes won't fit.

3. Mark every bag and box either urgent or not urgent. Take the things marked "Urgent" with you first, so that you have the things you need right away.

4. Put a change of clothes, some pajamas, and your daily toiletries into a backpack so that if you don't unpack immediately, at least you can change and clean yourself up.

5. Wrap any breakables in newspaper or bedsheets.

That's about all I can think of at the moment. My mind is fuzzy and I must be off so I can write a 500 word bio of myself for my techniques for video and film production class before 6:30 tonight.

Oh, and here's a tip that applies to both packing things and doing homework: "Procrastination is like masturbating, in the end, you're only screwing yourself."
