I was surprised that Mom lent me money to go see a movie. But she did, and Kim and Rachel and I went to see "The Importance Of Being Earnest." It was really great to hang out with them. I didn't realize how much I missed everyone until I saw some friends tonight.

After the movie, we went to David's house to pick up him and Oliver. Then we were in a pickle, and didn't know what to go do. I jokingly suggested that we go crash Josh's LAN party. Unfortunately, everyone took me up on this offer. This led to David and Oliver playing with all of Josh's tech toys, Rachel playing solitaire, and Kim and I being bored out of our minds. It was fun being with my friends, but really tiring to just sit and watch the guys play Starcraft. After prying David and Oliver away from the game, and a rousing chorus of "This LAN Is Our LAN" (I know that I'm lame), we finally packed ourselves into Kim's hatchback with the suction-cup Garfield in the window.

Now I'm home, and debating whether to go upstairs and get my CD player or to live without music. John has Cody over, and I'm afraid that if I go upstairs they're going to try to talk to me, or (God forbid) make me watch music videos. I am becoming increasingly sick of Blink 182. All of their music videos are beginning to look the same. I'm considering moving them over to my mental list of annoying boy bands, because they're starting to get commercialized and have too many irritating teenybopper groupies. With new haircuts and wussier clothes, Blink 182 could be an edgier version of the Backstreet Boys. On the other side of the coin, if BSB became less prissy and swore once in a while, they would be a femme Blink. I'm beginning to feel that all pop and pop-punk music is interchangable.

It's the same with the girl pop singers. The only differences between Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears are hair size (Christina's is larger, like Cher's used to be), and the fact that sometimes Christina sings in Spanish. I have yet to see any difference between Jessica Simpson and Mandy Moore, other than hair colour. Both sing the same upbeat and sentimental love songs, and preach celibacy until marriage. Otherwise, these girls are all like gingerbread men. They are cut from the same cookie cutter and made from the same dough, but are just decorated differently.
