A Complete Moronic Tower of Yellow Jello

Today we went to finish shooting the evil Nike commercial. Because evil seems to be all over this project, it poured this morning, but still we shot in Chinatown and persevered at Lynn Canyon Park.

I love Lynn Canyon park, but I hate the suspension bridge there. By the time we arrived to shoot, I was drenched and shivering from standing around in Chinatown without an umbrella, and I decided that there was no way in hell I was going to walk across that suspension bridge. Both the bridge and I were too wet and shaky, and besides, Lynn Canyon is dangerous. Large portions of the park are fenced off so that people don't fall off the cliffs, and there are quite a few memorials there to people who fell to their deaths. Call me a worrywart, but I don't want to be one of those memorials. Finally Scooter's friend Cat (our actress) convinced me to go across, and I did. My heart was in the pit of my stomach, and I felt that at any moment one of my ankles was going to give out and I'd go over the rail and dive to my inevitable death. When I finally made it across, I felt so accomplished. By this time, though, Scooter and Jeff had decided that they didn't want to shoot on that side of the bridge, and we had to trek back. That was totally surreal, because my feet were so cold that I couldn't really feel them hitting the brigde. But I did it! I conquered my fear! Well, until next time I have to cross a suspension bridge and become a complete moronic tower of yellow jello.
